About this Speaker

Michael Tapscott is a DC native, currently serving as the Director of the George Washington University Multicultural Student Services Center. He has worked exclusively in university settings since June of 1977 including: Gallaudet University Summer Athletics Programs, Coach/Lecturer Tufts University, Admissions - American University, Admissions/Minority Student Affairs - George Mason University, Admissions/Student Support Services Regent University, and George Washington for almost seventeen years.

Mike graduated from the Sidwell Friends School in 1973, earned a B.A. in History from Tufts University in 1977, and attended graduate school at Tufts and American, studying higher education administration, and communication technology. Mike is a father figure for many students at GW, a leader in campus diversity and inclusion efforts, a champion for the GW student experience, and a proponent for the development of Black Men and Men of Color. The driving belief is that every student should have the same, high quality, inclusive, and holistic university experience no matter what...
