About this Speaker
Michael Tapscott is a DC native, currently serving as the Director of the George Washington University Multicultural Student Services Center. He has worked exclusively in university settings since June of 1977 including: Gallaudet University Summer Athletics Programs, Coach/Lecturer Tufts University, Admissions - American University, Admissions/Minority Student Affairs - George Mason University, Admissions/Student Support Services Regent University, and George Washington for almost seventeen years.
Mike graduated from the Sidwell Friends School in 1973, earned a B.A. in History from Tufts University in 1977, and attended graduate school at Tufts and American, studying higher education administration, and communication technology. Mike is a father figure for many students at GW, a leader in campus diversity and inclusion efforts, a champion for the GW student experience, and a proponent for the development of Black Men and Men of Color.
